  • Meetings will be 60 minutes long
  • Additional workgroup meetings may be utilized and will vary in length, type, and frequency.
  • RLSD administrators, board members, teachers, and students (if presenting) will attend meetings

Key Task for the Year:
Strengthen partnerships and pathways between the RLSD and BAC members and local business community. This may include:
1. Career Readiness and Capstone Opportunities: Collaborating with local businesses to evaluate the pilot Career Capstone Project, aligning with the competencies identified in the "Portrait of a Riverside Beaver" in an evaluation instrument.
2. Curriculum Alignment with Industry Needs: Working with businesses to ensure that the district’s curriculum is aligned with the skills and knowledge required in the workforce, particularly in areas like AI and personalized learning.
3. Community Engagement and Support: Engaging businesses to support school initiatives, whether through funding, mentoring, or providing resources for educational programs.
4. Feedback and Advisory Role: Regularly providing feedback on how the district’s educational strategies meet the needs of local employers and suggesting adjustments or new initiatives as needed.

Summary: The Riverside Local School District Business Advisory Council has been instrumental in providing input into the creation of the Senior Capstone Project, Portrait of a Riverside Beaver and Riverside Road Map. These accomplishments have helped the students and staff of the Riverside Local School District as we work towards becoming one community, pursuing greatness, and getting better every day.

Meetings will continue to be facilitated by district representatives and will attempt to provide more opportunities for the Business Advisory Council to engage with the students and staff of the Riverside Local School District. As the year progresses, feedback check points will be utilized which will help the school district understand any supports that are needed for future success.
